Every summer, local residents look forward to the Manchester Community Fair and all of the fun things it has to offer. Folks come from near and far to see familiar faces and greet their friends and neighbors. And there is always something new mixed in with the usual and familiar.
One way to enjoy the fair this year is to be a part of it! Volunteer at the SNACK SHACK.
This year, for the first time, the Emanuel United Church of Christ is partnering with the Manchester Community Resource Center (CRC) at the SNACK SHACK. While Emanuel has a long history of selling delicious meals from their church food trailer, this is a new venture for the CRC.
The SNACK SHACK will provide simpler fare, including freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Staffing a food enterprise for five days requires many volunteers. Whether grilling the burgers, serving the food, or taking the money, it will be a great opportunity to help raise revenue for these two partnering nonprofit groups. The bonus benefit will be meeting and greeting the people from the comforts of an air-conditioned room!
The SNACK SHACK coordinating committee has set up the following website to garner volunteer support. It lists the days and times available for each job. Hours will be Tuesday, 5–10pm; Wednesday–Friday, 4–10pm, and Saturday, 12–8pm. Go to: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d4caaa923a6fc1-emanuel1
Proceeds raised by the SNACK SHACK will stay here in Manchester and will be split between Emanuel UCC and the Manchester Community Resource Center, to support their efforts in the community.
Won’t you join these two deserving organizations in some fair fun—or fun fare?
