In the Manchester Area, Washtenaw County Road Commission will be doing roadwork in Manchester and Freedom Townships this week.

In Freedom Township,  Rentz Rd between Ellsworth Rd and Waters Rd will have daytime road closures this week for a culvert replacement. Parker Rd between Pleasant Lake Rd and Scio Church Rd  (in Freedom Township & Lodi Township) will have intermittent lane closures this week for preventative maintenance – fog seal.

In Manchester Township, Austin Rd between the county line and the Village of Manchester will have intermittent lane closures early in the week for preventative maintenance – fog seal, as will Sharon Hollow Rd between Herman Rd and Austin Rd. Also in Manchester Township, unpaved local roads throughout the township will have a rolling operation for dust control this week.

Fog seal is another thin layer of liquid asphalt placed on top of a recent chip seal that helps to seal in the chips and further protect the pavement. The work will be conducted under a combination of lane restrictions and daytime closures to allow the fog seal to cure. A contractor for WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to place permanent pavement markings.
