The round “Parker Barn“ on Lima Center Road is a semi-famous landmark in the Bridgewater Township area.

Please join us for our second Passport to Manchester event on Saturday, August 20, from 10am to 2pm! This program Is jointly sponsored by the Riverfolk Music and Arts Organization and the Manchester Area Historical Society. It provides a mix of historical presentations and period music, both of which explore the history and culture of the Manchester area and its residents.

The August 20 event will take place at the Gregory Parker “round barn” at 10705 Lima Center Road in Bridgewater Township. The event features:

  • Discussion by Mike Vershum on this barn’s history and specific design intents, including a walking tour of the site
  • MAHS presentation on the styles and distinct purposes of different German 19th-century barns in the Manchester area, by Ray Berg
  • Photographic display of unusual barns in the Manchester area, the Tour de Barn Quilts and Unusual Barns program, and resources available for historic barn research
  • Music for barn gatherings — Beverly Feldkamp Smith and friends

Advance registration for this Passport event is recommended. The event cost is $15. An optional meal is available from Fresh Forage for $10.
