Senior Market Bucks, a program administered through Chelsea Hospital, encourages seniors to eat better and to make healthy food choices at local farmers’ markets.

Sign up for Senior Market Bucks at Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café this Friday, August 19, from noon to 1:30pm. To be eligible for Senior Market Bucks, you must be 60 years of age AND live in Washtenaw County. These coupons can be used to purchase Michigan-grown fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt, meat, poultry, fish, and honey from Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café. Foods not mentioned in the above list are not eligible. Non-food items cannot be purchased with Senior Market Bucks, and no change is permitted.

As in previous years, booklets in the summer contain 10 coupons, each coupon worth $1. The last day to use the coupons is October 31, 2022.

Senior Market Bucks is administered by Chelsea Hospital to encourage seniors to eat better and to make healthy food choices. The program provides local seniors with these coupons to purchase qualifying food items at participating farmers’ markets.
