Emanuel to host flu and vaccine clinic Sept. 23

Free flu and pneumonia vaccine shots will be provided by Community Health Services of Michigan Medicine on Friday, September 23, from noon to 4pm at Emanuel United Church of Christ, 324 W Main St, in Manchester. The standard, high-dose flu and pneumonia shot is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who should get a flu and pneumonia shot?
• People at high risk of developing serious complications like pneumonia
• People who lack medical insurance
• People with certain medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis, and chronic lung and heart disease)
• Flu shots for pregnant women
• CDC recommends pneumococcal and flu vaccination for all adults 65 years or older
