Free hayrides are always a part of 3rd Thursday fun

by Marsha Chartrand

It may seem like summer just started, but just like that, we’re looking at the final 3rd Thursday of this season this week, on Sept. 15, from 5-8 pm.

Featured will be live music by Oddkin at 5 pm; Alex Radloff at 6 pm; and Rio Doyle at 7 pm. Throughout the evening, there will be craft and small business vendors, hayrides, kids’ activities in the alley, Eric the Juggler, Belly Dancer Shannon Seidelman, and the Historical Society Museum and Blacksmith Shop will be open. Shopping at downtown businesses and meals at local eateries will also be a highlight of the evening.

Special events this month will include a fund-raiser for the Community Resource Center — the Cornhole Tournament, where teams of all ages and levels of skill are invited to gather on Adrian Street between Ockrow and Duncan at 5pm to put their bag-tossing arms to good use. Teams can register online ahead of time at scoreholio.com or in person (cash only) on Thursday beginning at 5pm. This tournament will be a double-elimination event. Entry fees are $40 per two-person team. Proceeds will benefit the CRC. There will also be another Car Cruise this month — bring your cool car and show it off for everyone in town to see! Enter the event at Duncan and Adrian Streets.

Manchester is a great place to enjoy every day of the year, but the 3rd Thursdays are something special. Come down and see what’s cooking this week!
