There’s light at the end of the shared-use trail!
If you’re a regular walker in town, you may have noticed that the trail has been paved between Main Street and the eastern village limits. This makes more than half of the walking trail more accessible to those using walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices, as well as a more comfortable surface for those who choose to walk.
The paving project, which was completed on August 12, was a joint effort between 5 Healthy Towns Foundation (5HF) and the Village of Manchester. 5HF contributed $20,000 of the more than $40,000 total cost of the project.
For the safety of all who utilize the trail, the village asks that all motorized vehicles, including golf carts, e-bikes and hoverboards, remain off the shared-use trail.
