Breastfeeding Basics & Beyond

Are you planning to breastfeed your new child? We’re here for you. This free, three-session class offers the education and support you and your support person need:

  • Breastfeeding basics
  • What to expect in the first days and weeks
  • How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
  • How to avoid or manage complications
  • How to feel comfortable breastfeeding outside the house
  • How breastfeeding changes as your child grows and matures
  • Pumping your milk
  • Going back to work or leaving the home
  • Proper storage

This class is offered monthly at the Chelsea Wellness Center. The next class will be Sunday, October 16, from 10am to 1pm. To register visit stjoeshealth.org/breastfeedingclass.

The course is taught by Megan Trenary, BSN, RN, IBCLC. Megan is a nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has previously worked as a NICU nurse and lactation consultant, and found a passion in supporting breastfeeding and lactation goals.
