Sharon Preservation Society is collecting signatures on a petition it will submit to the Sharon Township Board of Trustees, prior to the Board’s ultimate decision on the application to mine a 400-acre parcel on Pleasant Lake Rd.

Summarized, the language for the petition states that the signer lives in the township and would like the Board to deny a special use permit to mine the property IF the township finds the mine would create “very serious consequences.“

Any Sharon Township resident who is interested in signing the petition can print it from the website (www.SharonPreservationSociety.org) and mail it to the address provided. And any resident should feel free to ask neighbors if they’d like to sign it as well.
