If you haven’t already got your plans made for decorating your home for Christmas, you may want to get started. Because the stakes are higher this year than ever before!

There’s only about a month to register for this year’s Christmas in the Village (CIV) 2022 Holiday Light Display Contest! This popular event has continued to grow over the past few years and does not only include homes inside the village limits but also those within a three-mile radius from the “four corners“ at Main Street and M-52, to get more of our township residents involved!

This year, there will be a $500 prize for the Best Dressed House, sponsored by River Raisin Distillery. Judging for the “Best Dressed“ will take place on December 3 from 6pm to 10pm. Judges will be comprised of an impartial committee with no ties to contestants and who do not live in the community. The contest is judged on curb appeal and will include exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior (streetside).

A “Facebook Favorite“ will also be chosen, and the home receiving the most likes between Dec. 2 and Dec. 16 will receive a prize of $100, sponsored by Worth Repeating. All photos (provided by residents) will be posted on the CIV Facebook page starting on December 2.

All registrations must be received by November 26, 2022. To register, fill out the Google form at https://bit.ly/2022ManchesterCIVLightingContest. All that is required is your name, address, phone number, and email address.

A list of addresses for participants will be available for community viewing on the CIV Facebook page.

Let’s transform the Manchester community into a Winter Wonderland and reward those residents who do go above and beyond to decorate their homes so beautifully for the holiday season!

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
