On Sunday morning, November 13, the Manchester Township Fire Department was dispatched to a plane that had landed/crash landed in a field west of town near the intersection of Austin and Lamb Roads in Manchester Township.

MTFD Chief Bill Scully said apparently the plane experienced an engine issue and the pilot landed the small plane in a field. “After landing, the plane, which was carrying the pilot and one passenger, did flip over,“ Scully noted. “The passenger did sustain a minor injury to his hand, but neither were transported to a hospital.“

The fire department did stand by at the scene until a representative from the FAA arrived. Besides the plane, there was no damage to the field, and the plane did not leak any fluids, according to Scully.

“The call sounded worse than it actually was,“ he concluded.
