Friday, December 2

Residential Lighting Contest goes live for voting

Where: Residences in the Manchester area

Description: Vote for the community favorite at https://www.facebook.com/manchestermichristmas by liking photos. Voting will be open December 2 through December 16. $100 prize to the house with the most votes! Winners will be announced Dec. 5. Prize sponsored by Worth Repeating.

 

Manchester Lighted Parade

Where: Starts at Emanuel United Church of Christ — 324 W Main St, and ends at Manchester Mill — 201 E Main St

When: 6:30pm

Description: Don your lights, glow sticks, and Christmas cheer. Come enjoy the lighted vehicles, animals, floats, and walkers as we kick off Christmas in the Village.

 

Hot Cocoa Station at the Mill

Where: Manchester Mill — 201 E Main St

When: 6:30pm

Description: Free hot chocolate!

 

Village Christmas Tree Lighting

Where: Manchester Mill porch — 201 E Main St

When: 6:45pm

Description: Join the Village President and Santa for the lighting of the Village Christmas Tree.

 

Santa Pictures & Treats at the Mill

Where: Manchester Mill — 201 E Main St

When: 7:00pm, after the tree lighting

Description: Opportunity to meet Santa and get your free photo with him taken by JSmith Photography.

 

Saturday, December 3

 

Craft/Vendor Shows:

  • Emanuel United Church of Christ

Where: 324 W Main St

When: 9am–3pm

Description: Bake sales, crafts, and vendor show. Lunch will be served from 11am to 2pm.

  • Manchester United Methodist Church

Where: 501 Ann Arbor St

When: 9am–3pm

Description: In addition to the craft show, the church will be hosting a Cookie Walk from 9am to 3pm, a sloppy joe lunch from 11am to 1pm with proceeds going to Youth Group Mission Trips, and MUMC United Methodist Women’s Forgotten Christmas Rummage Sale from 9am to 3pm with proceeds going to Manchester Family Services.

  • Sharon United Methodist Church

Where: 19980 W Pleasant Lake Rd

When: 9am–3pm

Description: 20+ vendors who will be offering a huge variety of homemade and handmade goods including Christmas Decor & Ornaments, Jewelry, Pottery, Candles, Honey Products, and more. Lunch will be available for sale starting at 11am.

  • St Thomas Lutheran Church

Where: Freedom Township Hall, 11508 E Pleasant Lake Rd

When: 9am–2pm

Description: In addition to their vendor/craft show they will be holding their annual German bake sale featuring authentic German baked goods, homemade pretzels, and a huge cookie walk with 20+ varieties of cookies. They will also host a luncheon from 11am to 2pm serving sloppy joes and ham and cheese pretzel-bun sandwiches.

  • Country Christmas Craft Show

Where: 194442 Bethel Church Rd (1 mile west of M-52)

When: 9am–4pm

Description: One of the largest home craft shows in the area! Featuring homemade pretzels, cookies, jams, pickles, veggies, ornaments, centerpieces, wreaths, grave blankets, wool mittens, and more! Cash or check only.

 

Christmas Music on the Porch

Where: Manchester Mill porch, 201 E Main St

When: 10am–4pm

Description: Stop by and listen!

 

Life-size Candyland

Where: Wurster Park, 215 W Main St

When: 10am–4pm

Description: Come out and play in a life-size Candyland!

 

Manchester Area Historical Society Museum Open House

Where: Kingsley-Jenter House, 302 E Main

When: 10am–3pm

Description: The gift shop will be open with a variety of locally produced items and also historic materials/books for sale. A student-owned business will be selling jewelry, soaps, and leather goods. Hats, scarves, and knitted accessories will be for sale. Museum will be open!

 

Manchester Blacksmith Shop Open House

Where: Manchester Area Historical Society Blacksmith Shop, 324 E Main

When: 10am–3pm

Description: Demonstrations of blacksmithing techniques, as well as crafting arts such as spinning and weaving. A variety of historic artifacts and other products made with these methods will be available for purchase in the shop.

 

Manchester Candy Hide and Seek (Christmas in the Village Scavenger Hunt)

Where: Starts at Village Hair Forum, 201 E Main St

When: 10am–4pm

Description: Manchester’s Christmas Candy has gone missing. Can you find it?

 

Visit with Santa

Where: Manchester Mill, 201 E Main

When: 11am–1pm

Description: Come visit with Santa on the Mill porch and get your 2022 Santa selfie.

 

Kids’ Corner

Where: Sharon Valley Bicycle Shoppe, 108 E Main St

When: 11am–2pm

Description: A place for kids to make free Christmas crafts

 

Holidays from the Heart Charity Dance Performance

Where: Manchester Jr/Sr High School, 20500 Dutch Dr

When: 1pm

Description: Dance with Heart Studio’s holiday charity dance performance. Admittance to the performance is by donation of non-perishable food items.

 

Cookies Class

Where: Manchester Market, 455 W Main St

When: 3pm

Description: Chef Keegan Rodgers will share his knowledge and expertise on cookies! This class is free thanks to a donation by Worth Repeating. Email farmersmarket48158@gmail.com to register.

 

Adrian Bethel AME Church Choir Worship & Praise Concert

Where: Manchester United Methodist Church, 501 Ann Arbor St

When: 3pm–3:30pm

Description: Back by popular demand! Join Jane, Byron, Jimmy, and Pastor Faith as they treat us to some gospel, praise, and Christmas favorites.

 

Co-op Preschool Chili Cook-Off and Auction

Where: River Raisin Distillery, 480 W Main St

When: Chili tasting, 5pm–6pm; live auction, 7pm

Description: Fundraising event for Manchester Co-op Preschool. Includes a chili cook-off contest (tasting is suggested $1 donation per bowl), silent and live auction, and a 50/50 raffle.

 

Christmas Karaoke

Where: Over the Edge Sports Bar & Pizzeria, 230 E Main St

When: 7pm

Description: Come share your holiday spirit by singing Christmas Karaoke.

Many local businesses will be having special offers during Christmas in the Village! From specialty Christmas drinks, to raffles, drawings, and spectacular sales! For example, Sharon Valley Bicycle Shoppe will have 20% off everything in the store on December 3.

If giving is more your thing than shopping is, stop by the Giving Tree at the Manchester Market at 455 W Main St during their regular business hours and donate non-perishable foods to be given to the Community Resource Center. Or scan a QR code to make a monetary donation.
