SRSLY Manchester welcomes new program coordinator
submitted by Alexandra Duranczyk, SRSLY Manchester Coalition Director
SRSLY Manchester is pleased to welcome Anna Webber to its team as the new program coordinator. In this role, Webber leads the coalition’s efforts and programming, and supports the volunteers. She also oversees the daily operations and community impact.
Webber earned her master’s degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University and holds a bachelor’s degree in theatre performance from Western Michigan University. A Michigan native, Webber explains how these dual degrees prepared her for her role at SRSLY.
“Theatre created a place where I felt safe to be myself,” says Webber. “I developed supportive relationships and life skills that I carry with me today.”
Webber’s transformative experience in theatre sparked a passion for helping youth and pursuing her social work degree.
“With SRSLY, I can combine the skills I learned from theatre, as well as the therapeutic skills I learned from pursuing my social work degree, to create spaces for youth to express themselves. My goal is to help them gain confidence and leadership skills, while learning positive ways of coping with stress.“
“Anna’s commitment to supporting our youth aligns perfectly with SRSLY’s goals,” says Alex Duranczyk, SRSLY Manchester Coalition Director. “She brings unique skills and background to SRSLY, which will benefit our community as a whole.”
Webber lives in Ypsilanti with her partner and their dog, Juno. She loves being outdoors as much as possible in summer and fall, especially kayaking or hiking. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and binge watching whatever her latest TV series obsession
may be.
