Everyone loves pie, and there will be plenty to go around at the senior luncheon on Wednesday.

For many years, the third and fourth graders at Manchester Community Schools have served the senior citizens of Manchester a delicious holiday dinner between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

What was once baked turkeys, assisted by (themselves senior citizens) Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kuyda of Freedom Township and much of the food cooked by the Klager Kids at the Manchester United Methodist Church kitchen, is now provided by the Riverside Intermediate School food service staff as the reconfiguration of classes has put third and fourth graders in that building.

This year’s event will be held at 11am, Wednesday, Dec. 7, and is FREE to all seniors. The location is in the Riverside Cafeteria, and you don’t have to be a grandparent to attend — all seniors in the Manchester area are welcome.

Entertainment will include third- and fourth-grade singers and the fifth-grade band, all directed by Mr. Ed Schoendorff (also known as “Mr. S.“); and the sixth-grade band, directed by Mr. Throneberry (also known as “Mr. T.“).

Come and see another one of the great events that is happening at our schools!
