NOTICE OF ADOPTION
ORDINANCE No. 314

PROCESSING OF FOOD PRODUCTS, BAKERY GOODS, CANDY AND BEVERAGES PERMITTED IN I-1 LIMITED INDUSTRIAL 

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE VILLAGE ZONING ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 239 OF 2001, AS IT IS INCORPORATED IN THE VILLAGE OF MANCHESTER CODE OF ORDINANCES, TITLE XV: LAND USAGE, CHAPTER 151: ZONING CODE, SECTION 151.052: I-1 LIMITED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT ADDING (d) FOOD AND BEVERAGE PRODUCTS AND (e) ALCOHOL, SEE BREWERY, DISTILLARY, WINE PRODUCTION TO (4) LIGHT MANUFACTURING, PROCESSING, PACKAGING OR ASSEMBLING IN SECTION (B) PERMITTED USES.

THE VILLAGE OF MANCHESTER, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN, HEREBY ORDAINS:

Section 1. Amendment to definitions

Section 151.007 of the Manchester Village code is hereby amended to add: 

Food production. A facility in which the preparation, processing, and packaging of food and beverage products, but not the slaughtering of animals. Examples of activities include, but are not limited to, bakeries, creameries, and confectioneries.

Brewery, distillery, wine production.  A facility in which beer, wine or other alcoholic beverages are brewed, fermented, or distilled and then packaged and stored for distribution and possesses the appropriate license(s) from the State of Michigan and the federal government. 

Section 2. Amendment to General Industrial District
Section 151.052 of the Manchester Village Code is hereby amended to add (d) Food and beverage products and (e) Alcohol, see brewery, distillery, wine production to (4) Light manufacturing, processing, packaging, or assembling in Section (B) Permitted uses.

Section 3. Severability
If any section, paragraph, clause, or provision of this Ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity of such section, paragraph, clause, or provision shall not affect any of the other provisions of this Ordinance.

Section 4. Effective Date
The Village Clerk shall cause this Ordinance, or a synopsis of this Ordinance, to be published in the manner required by law within fifteen (15) days after it has been duly adopted by the Village Council.  The effective date shall be the 20th day after the date of publication.
