Title 3 holds family information night at library

Manchester Community School’s Title 3 Team teamed up with the Manchester District Library to host the second annual Title 3 Family Information Night.
During the evening families were treated to a fun scavenger hunt around the library. They traveled to different stations learning more about the Title 3 program. Along the way they collected a variety of items that came together at the final station and were used to create family gingerbread houses. While making their gingerbread houses, families were also treated to hot chocolate and cookies from around the world.
Featured stations that evening included information about WIDA, new curriculums and resources purchased through a government grant and a Manchester Community Schools Foundation Grant, and information about progress monitoring student learning.
Children were delighted by the opportunity to meet with one of their local friendly police officers and sign up for a library card. The event ended with fellowship and fun as everyone jumped into their projects with a creative heart to build a special gingerbread house as a family.
Title 3 is a federally funded program for grade-school children. It provides monies and resources for families of children who speak more than one language to be successful in the classroom and beyond.
