BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR AN APPLICATION TO AMEND A PREVIOUSLY APPROVED SPECIAL USE PERMIT

Notice is hereby given that the Bridgewater Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Hall (10990 Clinton Road) to receive comments on an application from George Barbu for approval under Section 5.101 (Farm-Based Tourism or Entertainment Activities) and Article 7.0 (Special Land Uses) of the Bridgewater Township Zoning Ordinance No. 67 of the following two (2) amendments to the special use permit approved in 2018 for the Historic Blum Farm event barn at 10383 E. Austin Road, Manchester, MI 48158 (Parcel No. Q-17-02-300-019), 26.68 acres on the south side of E. Austin Road between Schneider Road and Schellenberger Road in the SW1/4 of section 2 and in the AG (General Agriculture) District:

1. To extend the event barn’s business season from the current May 1 to October 31 of each calendar year to a year-round operation with a proposed one-hour earlier shut down of music by 10:00pm during the period between November 1 and the following April 30 of each year.

2. To increase the number of allowable events from the current one (1) per week to a maximum of two (2) per week .

No other amendments to the approved special use permit are proposed.
