Obituary: Kristy J. Raab

Kristy J. Raab (November 22, 1971 to March 5, 2023)

Kristy J. (Kostenbader/Fernandez) Raab, 51, of Manchester Mich., a wife, mother, sister, nurse, friend, grandmother, and so much more, went to join the angels choir on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

Kristy was born on November 22, 1971, to Jeanne Ann and Roger Kostenbader in Stroudsburg, Pa. Kristy graduated abroad in Germany in 1991. She worked as a nurse at the University of Michigan as well as St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was a lover of many genres of music and made everyone smile with a single lyric of any song. She was everyone’s strong shoulder to lean on when you needed it. She fought long and hard after her accident on June 29, 2021. She was a nurse, singer, comedian, and everyone’s favorite mom! She will be remembered and deeply missed by all the lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Raab; daughter, Kristina Rooney, and her husband, Alan Rooney; son, Scott Fernandez, and his wife, Desiree Fernandez; two grandchildren, Harmony Meade and Evelyn Rooney; sister Kelly J. Zimmerman and her husband, John H. Zimmerman; sister Kandy J. Kostenbader; and brother, Kurt J. Kostenbader; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Kostenbader, and her mother, Jeanne Kostenbader.

Viewing will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023, from noon to 6pm at Robison Funeral Home in Saline. The service will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11am at Bethel Church in Manchester.
