Deputy Ethan Roy was called to a Property Damage Accident on Wednesday night at the corner of Main and Clinton Streets, in front of the post office.

A driver had attempted to park at the gas station across the street, but did not place the vehicle in park. It subsequently rolled across Main Street and took out a streetlight on the southeast corner. No citation was issued because there was no driver in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Stein Electric arrived on Thursday morning to remove the streetlight pole and to cap the electric. A new streetlight pole was ordered and set up by Friday, according to Village Manager Michael Sessions.

“We will be submitting this to our insurance company as a claim when we receive the report from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office,“ Sessions informed the Village Council.

No injuries or additional damages were reported, according to Sessions.
