Just in time for Spring Break reading, the Scholastic Fair returns to Manchester from March 20 through March 24, and will be held in Klager’s Media Center. This is a perfect opportunity to pick up some books and hit those reading goals while on the beach in Florida!

The public is welcome to visit the fair to make their purchases — the fair will be open during school hours (except for lunch break, 11:30am–1pm), after school each day until 3:30pm, and from 5–8pm during Parent Teacher Conferences on March 22.

The book fair is a key fundraiser for Klager’s library — last October’s sale was record breaking! There was a tremendous turnout from the community and this record sale generated $2,300 to buy books and supplies. That helps the library to build their collection and to replace well-loved books. Manchester’s generosity and support is giving our students the building blocks for literacy and educational success!

Parents/guardians can sign up to volunteer to help with the book fair! There is an online sign-up sheet with available dates and times. Your child can purchase books at the checkout during the sale — and there’s also an option to deposit money on their eWallet in order to purchase items under their name.

If you don’t happen to have a student who will be shopping (or maybe you do but you’d like to help out the library even more!) you can also choose to donate to an eWallet that goes directly to the library. All funds will be used to help students pay for books at the fair and any leftover funds will go to buying books for the library. If you wish to make a donation for a specific reason, i.e. buying books for a whole class, please contact Klager’s Librarian, Angela Zahner, at: azahner@mcs.k12.mi.us.

We really appreciate all of the community support and can’t wait to see you at the fair! Thank you for supporting the Manchester Community Schools!
