WCSO January – February 2023 report of police services in the village

During the month of January 2023 there were 166 calls for service. During this time, 105 traffic stops were made, resulting in 37 citations. There were no significant incidents to note during the month of January that posed a risk to the general public or were noteworthy to alert the community about.

Deputies did respond to six ordinance violations in January. Five Parking citations were issued — all in the 100 block of Hibbard Street. A letter was sent regarding blight in the 100 block of W. Duncan Street.

During the month of February 2023, there were 147 calls for service. During this time 68 traffic stops were made, resulting in 26 citations.

In a noteworthy event in Manchester Village, on February 22, a Collaboration Deputy responded to the 400 block of Lafayette for a report of fraud. The complainant advised that an unknown suspect convinced them they had won a vehicle through a sweepstakes but needed to pay $1,400 to claim it. The suspect was provided with gift card identification numbers over the telephone, which satisfied the suspect’s profit from the victim. The investigation has led deputies to believe the suspect is from India; however, the investigation remains open at this time.

Two ordinance violations were cited in February, both parking citations in the 100 block of Hibbard Street.
