FOR THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY, May 2, 2023

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BRIDGEWATER:

Notice is hereby given that a Special Election will be held in the Township listed above on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

At the following location:

Bridgewater Township:

Precinct 1:  Bridgewater Township Hall
10990 Clinton Road
Manchester, MI 48158

Please take notice that the Saline Area School district will be voting on the following millage proposal as presented and listed below:

Saline Area Schools

Operating Millage Renewal Proposal

This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance and renews millage that will expire with the 2023 tax levy.

Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 21.8508 mills ($21.8508 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Saline Area Schools, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 10 years, 2024 to 2033, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2024 is approximately $8,501,850 (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2023 tax levy)?

Full text of the ballot proposal may be obtained at the Township office listed above.  Sample ballots can also be found at www.mi.gov/vote.

Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the local clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot or go to www.mi.gov/vote.

To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the township clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
