Jacob Smith, 12th grade March Student of the Month

Jacob Smith has played football and basketball for four years, baseball for two years, participated in FFA for four years, and has served as class vice president for four years. He plans to attend Michigan State to major in supply chain management. Outside of school, he enjoys deer hunting in the fall and turkey hunting in the spring, spending time at his grandpa’s farm on Saturdays, talking and learning about old muscle cars, driving in the summertime, playing euchre, visiting places/sites around the country, talking with members of his church, spending time with his girlfriend, and being with his family. Here in the community, he has done snow and brush removal in town the past few months, helped set up the ice rink near the pavilion in the winter, helped with a can drive at the pavilion for the basketball program, and helped set up/tear down Chicken Broil pits, as well as helping assemble takeout boxes during the event.

The Manchester Community School Foundation holds an appreciation dinner in the spring for the seniors who are chosen as students of the month during the school year. They also offer a $1,000 scholarship for which only senior students of the month are eligible to apply.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
