5 Healthy Towns Foundation hiring for a newly-created position

The 5 Healthy Towns Foundation is seeking an Intramural Sports & Recreation Coordinator who will serve as the point person for a new, exciting inter-community project that seeks to work with schools, local government, park systems and other organizations to leverage assets in our community into vibrant recreation hubs.
“Under the direction of the Regional Planning Manager, the ISC will bring services and technical resources to the communities of Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge and work in partnership with existing organizations to establish intramural sports and recreation programming for community members over the age 18, with select parts of the program intended specifically for other target
populations such as youth and seniors,” said Matt Pegouskie, Regional Planning Manager for OneBigConnection.org and 5healthytowns.org.
An ideal candidate for the position possesses strong intercultural skills, a passion for establishing new sports and recreation opportunities, and an ability to work harmoniously with other community stakeholders to maximize the impact of resources and assets in each of the 5 healthy towns. This individual will oversee all 5H lead intramural activities and coordinates schedules and activities with partner organizations as needed.
Qualifications include at least a Bachelor’s degree in recreation management, public administration, or a related field; energy and enthusiasm; familiarity with virtual meeting management and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; project management experience; able to work independently and with diverse team members; and demonstrate good communication and time management skills.
Some of the responsibilities expected would include attendance at meetings in the 5 Healthy Towns; planning and attending events; promotion and marketing; developing and implementing intramural leagues and activities; volunteer recruitment and engagement; manage and expand communication channels; maintaining sustainability of programs; and more.
