Marlene Mae Lentz (May 21, 2023)

Marlene Mae Lentz, 89, returned to her home in heaven on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Marlene’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 4–7pm at Eineder Funeral Homes — Manchester Chapel. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11am with family and friends gathering at 10am until time of service at Emanuel United Church of Christ. Interment of Ashes to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Gene Blair will serve as celebrant.

She was born on September 18, 1933, in Manchester to Fred and Bertha (Miller) Schill. She attended Manchester High School and would go on to retire from Ford Motor Company in 1988. Never content to sit still, she went on to work at Unit Packaging and Emanuel Church, enjoying two more retirements!

Marlene married M. Leo Lentz in 1968 and raised two children, Linda and Michael. Marlene enjoyed playing cards, spending time with friends, and mostly making sure her family was well fed. Up to her last days she insisted that everyone who came to visit enjoy a meal or snack and a drink from her well-stocked kitchen.

Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Leo; her sisters, Betty, Jean Marie, and Margaret; and brother, Veryl. She is survived by her children, Linda (Ron) Milkey and Michael (Kelley) Lentz; grandchildren, Leo (Rosalie) Schmitt, Eli (special friend Courtney) Schmitt, Olivia (special friend Alex) Milkey, Zachary (Tara) Lentz, Scott Lentz, and Jeffery (fiancé Madelyn) Lentz; and great-grandson, Lucas Lentz. Marlene had many special nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and many dear and special friends. True to her nature, she requested that none be specifically named because she treasured them all equally and didn’t want anyone to feel left out.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Manchester Fire Department or St. Mary Cemetery. Please leave a message of comfort for Marlene’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
