Library hosts community shred-it event

The Manchester District Library (MDL) will host a Community Shred-It event on Saturday, June 24, from 10am to 1pm. This community service event will be held in the back parking lot at 912 City Rd in Manchester. Any community member can have unneeded documents securely destroyed by a professional shredding service to protect against identity theft and fraud.
Bring any quantity of paper documents (including tax forms, bank statements, contracts, payroll statements, and more; anything with personally identifying or private information). Be sure to remove any staples, paper clips, or other plastic or metal objects.
Items not accepted:
- syringes
- food containers (glass, cans, etc.)
- cardboard tubes
- ink cartridges and toners
- hanging folders
- electrical items or electronic devices
- hard drives or computer equipment
- office supplies
- batteries of any type
- metal objects

Hours are Monday–Thursday, 10am–8pm; Friday, 10am–6pm; and Saturday, 10am–2pm. The most up-to-date hours and the latest news are always available on the MDL Website. MDL is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the lower level Village Council Chambers. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
