The Manchester Community Fair is approaching fast. It is its 78th year!

This year the fair runs from August 8 through the 12 on Alumni Field, located on the corner of Vernon Street and Wolverine Street in the Village. This year’s theme is “Country Pride — Community Wide.” This year’s grand marshal is Kathy O’Mara.

On Sunday, August 6, as a pre-fair event, there will be a classic and antique cement slab pull starting at 10am and running into the evening. 

On Monday, August 7, exhibitors can enter and set up from 2pm to 8pm.

The fair kicks off on Tuesday, August 8, with KOI Drag Racing and the midway opening at 5pm. The fair parade through the Village begins at 6:30pm. After the parade will be the crowning of the fair queen. The steer judging will be at 8pm.

Wednesday, August 9, starts off with the compact tractor pull at 9am, the midway opening a 3pm, lamb judging at 6pm, Blue Water Micro Wrestling at 7pm, and swine judging at 7:30pm.

Thursday August 10, features the large tractor cement pull at 10:30am, the midway opening at 3pm, and a livestock auction at 7pm.

On Friday, August 11, there is a Touch a Truck event at 1pm, the midway opens at 3pm, and the Demolition Derby is at 7pm.

Saturday, August 12, starts with Ladies’ Day at 10am, a Car Show at noon, Corn Hole with a time to still be decided, the midway opening at 1pm, Kids’ Day from 1pm to 5 pm, the pedal pull at 3pm, kids’ prizes at 5pm, and the Lost Nations Rodeo at 7pm.

Gate admissions vary depending on the day. On Tuesday, gate admission will be $8, on Wednesday it will be $10, on Thursday it will be $8, and on Friday it will be $10. On Saturday it will be $8 from 9am to 3pm, and $10 after 3pm. 

 On Thursday, senior citizens 62 years and older can enter for free until 5pm. Children 5 and under are free. An adult season pass is $35.
