New village newsletter coming your way
by Marsha Chartrand
Did you miss seeing your blue postcard-sized water bill arrive in the mail at the end of June?
Did you notice a mysterious letter from the Village of Manchester arriving in your mailbox and set it aside to look at “later”? (Is it still sitting in that pile of mail?)
A combination of new personnel in the Village front office and a resulting new division of responsibilities have made it possible to publish a newsletter monthly, rather than semi-annually, at least for the present time. July’s newsletter included information on lead water line replacement, park reservations, the sheriff’s report, ordinance reminders, brush pickup, and the 2024 fiscal year budget.
This week, you may want to keep your eyes peeled for a repeat of that mysterious looking envelope, which contains not only a new version of your water bill, but a monthly newsletter from the village with information on what’s happening in the community along with factual updates on the November 7, 2023, election, which will determine whether Manchester becomes a city, along with the new City Council and Mayor.
Each issue of the newsletter between now and November will provide answers to Frequently Asked Questions based on the investigations of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee study in 2018–19, along with newer updated information based on recent questions asked of village officials.
But there’s plenty of other important news in the monthly newsletter! Don’t miss out on what’s happening in the community, and particularly in the village, during the month of August. Watch your mailbox for the next issue of the newsletter and your updated, upgraded water bill arriving this week.
