Harry P. Johnson ( July 28, 1927 – August 24, 2023)

Harry P. Johnson, 96, passed away in the early morning hours of August 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Harry’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 2 – 4 pm and 6-8 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Manchester Chapel. His funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 also at Eineder Funeral Homes – Manchester Chapel, with a light luncheon to follow.

He was born in Manchester, Michigan on July 28, 1927 to Peter and Sofia (Marinos) Johnson. On September 24, 1955 he married the love of his life, Mary (Kensler) Johnson. He will be remembered as a dedicated volunteer firefighter with 65 years of service, an avid enthusiast of Michigan Football and Tigers baseball, but most of all as a loving family man who enjoyed time with  his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. 

Harry will be missed by his wife, Mary, his children, Julie (Mark) Murray, Peter Johnson, and Diana Johnson; son in law, Richard Saft; grandchildren, Mary Dettling, Joanna (Daniel) Scott, Pete (Heather) Dettling, Leslie (Dan) Murray, Daniel (Lindsay) Murray, Morgan Johnson, Alivia Johnson, Julia Johnson, Peter Johnson, Jenna Johnson, and Tommy Johnson; great grandchildren Cody (Amber) Sroufe, Leah Austin, Lilly Rye-Murray, Haylee Murray, Harrison Murray, and Charli Dettling; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Paula Saft, his siblings Bessie Minor, Tommy Johnson, Christine Baughey, Nick Johnson, Paulina Kensler, Mary Randall, and George Johnson along with their parents.
