WCSO: July 2023 report of police services in the village

During the month of July there were 162 calls for service to the Manchester collaboration. During this time, 85 traffic stops were made resulting in 14 citations.
Noteworthy events in Manchester Village during the month included:
- On July 13, a Collaboration Deputy responded to the 100 block of Hibbard Street for a report of a fraud and harassment incident. The victim indicated that over the course of the last several months, they had sent an unknown person known as “Henry Alberto” and “Tony Blake” in excess of $13,000. This person is believed to be one and the same person, and likely lives in Jamaica. No further information is available at this time.
Deputies also investigated nine ordinance violations during the month. Eight of the violations were for overgrown grass. Seven of the properties were tagged; one was tagged and given a verbal warning. A verbal warning was given to a property in the 300 block of S. Macomb Street. The last ordinance violation was for a blight vehicle in the 200 block of W. Duncan Street. A letter was sent.
The Sheriff’s Office has recently implemented a new, online police-reporting portal. Citizens can now file certain types of police reports online without needing contact with a deputy or coming in to a station. The following types of incidents may be filed online:
- Harassing phone calls/no known suspects
- Identity theft/no known suspects
- Lost property
- Larceny/Theft/No known suspects
- Damaged property/vandalism
- Accidental/Non-intentional property damage
