Homecoming Parade and more this week!
by Sara Swanson
The community is invited to come out and watch or participate in the 2023 Manchester Jr./Sr. High School Homecoming Parade this Thursday, September 21, at 6pm. If you would like to participate, meet at 5:45pm in Emanuel Church’s parking lot for staging.
The parade route will run east on Main Street through the M-52 intersection, turning and going through the subdivision, then along Dutch Drive, ending at the athletic complex. Everyone is invited to decorate a float, a truck, a trailer, a bike, or a golf cart and join the parade. Advertise your business, sport, or club, or just help celebrate the homecoming game! This year’s theme for the week is Barbie Disco. Candy tossing is encouraged. Questions about the parade? Please contact Angie Fuller at (317) 517-2057 or Dawna Stockwell at (734) 428-1913.
After the parade, at 7pm, there will be a Powder Puff football game at the athletic complex followed by Homecoming Pandemonium at 8pm on Alumni Field. Both students and the community are invited to Pandemonium, which will include games, music, a giant bonfire, and a “firing up the crowd” speech by Varsity Football Coach Ben Pack. Both the Fire Department and WCSO will be present and concessions will be available for purchase. Adult volunteers are still needed. To volunteer, email PTSA@MCS.K12.US.
The Homecoming football game is this Friday, September 22, at 7pm and is against Leslie. Go, Dutch!
