It’s a new school year and that means the Community Resource Center (CRC) has restarted the Weekend Kids Meals program. Last month the CRC put out a call for donations for the program and the Manchester Lions Club has answered with a $1,000 check.

Carol Wotring, the CRC’s executive director, explained the program, saying, “The Community Resource Center is offering weekend meal kits for Manchester Community Schools students who are facing food insecurity when not in school. These healthy meal kits contain two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks that students can consume on the weekend. The MCS social worker identifies the child in need and distributes the meal kits, which are packed by CRC volunteers.”

If you have questions about the program or would like to donate to the CRC’s Weekend Kids Meals Program, please contact the CRC at 734-428-7722.
