Obituary: Nancy Hebb

Nancy Hebb, 1958 – 2023

We regretfully announce the passing of Nancy Hebb, 64, of Clinton, Mich. Nancy passed away on October 17, 2023, of natural causes.

Nancy was born and adopted by Edwin and Caroline Hebb in December of 1958 in Dearborn, Mich. Nancy graduated from Dearborn High School and Macalester College with a degree in creative writing. She was a lifelong animal lover and devoted her life to breeding, raising, and training border collies for sheep herding. She spent many years working at Greenfield Village in a historical recreation of a working farm where she demonstrated her dogs’ sheep-herding abilities. She later moved to Clinton, Mich., where she continued to breed and train her beloved border collies and raise sheep.

She was active in the international border collie community having raised many award-winning sheep-herding dogs, while also spinning wool and writing for the local Manchester paper. Nancy is survived by her brother, David. She will be remembered in a private ceremony where her ashes will be spread according to her wishes.
