Through rain, wind, and snow, the Annual Caramel Apple Event was a success!

The crew of volunteers made about 900 caramel apples for this year’s trick-or- treaters and their parents. This year the event was sponsored by the Manchester District Library; and Library Director Kathy Dimond worked tirelessly to make sure everything was ready.

Kathy would like to thank the following for their support and participation in making this another great year: The Village of Manchester for the use of Wurster Park, Emanuel Church for allowing us to use their kitchen, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office for making sure everyone stayed safe, Amanda Walz for picking up the apples, the Manchester Equestrian team, who washed and dried 1,000 apples on Monday night to prepare for Halloween, and Alber Orchard for donating the apples.

A host of volunteers from the community who always make the event possible are: Lisa Fookes, Amber Houttekier and her daughters, Joe Jarvis, David Nelson, Gary and Ellen Seguin, Mark and Ruth VanBogelen, Joe Walsh, Janet Donnellon, Angie and Gerard Zechman, Tammy Melcher, Colleen Newton, Beth Box, Jennifer Schoeneich, Worth Repeating, the Friends of the Library, and Frank Cousino.

Thank you all for your participation!
