Friday, December 1

Holiday Small Business Word Search
When: Whenever businesses are open!
Where: Participating local businesses
Description: Win a $50 prize. See local businesses for details.

M Shaw Home Studio Open House
When: 4pm – 8pm
Where: 610 City Rd
Description: Come visit local folk artist M Shaw’s home studio. New Birds of Peace series will be available. New paintings priced for gift giving and personal collecting as well as other handmade art for sale.

Christmas Tree Sales
When: 5pm – 8pm
Where: Chi-Bro Park, 209 Ann Arbor St
Description: Buy your Christmas tree locally! The Manchester Men’s Club will be selling Christmas trees until they are gone. Trees cost $45 per tree.

Christmas in the Village Lighted Parade
When: 6:30pm (participants gather and line up at 6pm)
Where: The parade starts at the Emanuel Church parking lot, 324 W Main St, and runs along Main Street, turning onto Adrian Street, and ending in front of the Manchester Mill, 201 E Main St
Description: A lighted parade to kick off Christmas in the Village 2023! No candy will be thrown during this nighttime parade for safety reasons. Santa will be bringing up the rear!

Tree Lighting, Visit with Santa, Hot Chocolate, and Caroling
When: 6:45pm
Where: Manchester Mill porch, 201 E Main St
Description: After the parade there will be a tree-lighting ceremony, then Santa will visit with the children and give each child a small gift. There will be free hot chocolate and caroling. Hot chocolate sponsored by SRSLY Manchester. Tree lighting sponsored by Hillside Christmas Tree Farm.

Saturday, December 2

Zion Lutheran Church’s Breakfast with Santa
When: 9am or 10:30am
Where: 3050 S Fletcher Rd
Description: Breakfast and photo with Santa. Two seatings available. Horse-pulled wagon rides. $5/person or $20/family. Reservations required: https://tinyurl.com/ZionBreakfastWithSanta

Craft/Vendor Shows

  • Emanuel United Church of Christ Craft Show and Lunch
    When: 9am – 2pm
    Where: 324 W Main St
    Description: Vendors will sell crafts, products, and baked goods. Emanuel’s Missions Group will be selling homemade goods and tickets to win a quilt. New this year, there will be freshly made doughnuts on site from 8 to 10am thanks to Fusilier Farms. Lunch for sale from 11am to 2pm, including a ham or turkey sandwich on a homemade pretzel bun, hot dogs, chips, chicken noodle soup, and water.
  • Manchester United Methodist Church Craft Show, Cookie Walk, Forgotten Christmas Rummage Sale, and Lunch
    What: 9am – 2pm
    Where: 501 Ann Arbor St
    Description: In addition to the craft show, the church will be hosting a Cookie Walk, lunch, and MUMC United Methodist Women’s Forgotten Christmas Rummage Sale featuring gently used Christmas items.
  • St Thomas Lutheran Church German Bake Sale, Cookie Walk, and Lunch
    When: 9am – 2pm
    Where: Freedom Township Hall, 11508 E Pleasant Lake Road
    Description: German baked goods, including homemade pretzels. Lunch for sale from 11am to 1pm, including sloppy joes and ham-and-cheese pretzel-bun sandwiches.
  • Sharon United Methodist Church Craft Show and Lunch
    When: 9am – 3pm
    Where: Sharon United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 19980 Pleasant Lake Rd
    Description: Craft show and lunch for sale.
  • Country Craft Barn Open House
    When: 9am – 4pm
    Where: 19442 Bethel Church Rd
    Description: Sale includes German pretzels, baked goods, wreaths, centerpieces, quilts, vintage items, jam, and more.

Men’s Club Christmas Tree Sales
When: 9am – 5pm

Free Christmas Card Make & Take
When: 10am – 2pm
Where: Manchester District Library, 912 City Rd
Description: Create your very own customized Christmas cards. You are welcome to take your creations home or leave them to be given out at local nursing homes. Materials will be provided. All ages welcome!

Blacksmith Shop Open House and Craft Sale
When: 10am – 3pm
Where: 324 E Main St
Description: Stop in the Blacksmith Shop Museum for cookies, historic crafts demonstrations, and sales. The forge will be fired up and the great spinning wheel will be spinning. All items for sale are made by volunteers and proceeds are used to sustain the programs.

Manchester Area Historical Society Museum Open House & Craft Show
When: 10am – 3pm
Where: Kingsley-Jenter House, 302 E Main St
Description: The first floor will host a craft show. The museum will be open on the second floor, along with the gift shop featuring a variety of locally produced items.

Description: Free. Come visit with Santa on the Mill porch. Children will receive a small gift. Gifts sponsored by Hastings Performance LLC.

Hayrides through town
When: 11am – 2pm
Where: Pick-up and drop-off in front of the Manchester Mill, 201 E Main St
Description: Free, tractor-pulled wagon hayride through town. Weather permitting.

Free Kids’ Crafts Make-and-Take
When: 11am – 2pm
Where: Sharon Valley Bicycle Shoppe, 108 E Main St
Description: Free make-and-take crafts for kids. Sponsored by American 1 Credit Union.

Manchester Co-op Preschool Chili Cook-off and Auction
When: 5 – 8pm
Where: River Raisin Distillery, 480 W Main St
Description: Enjoy a variety of different chilis and bid in the live and silent auctions. 50/50 raffle also available. No charge for chili but a $1 donation per tasting is suggested. All proceeds benefit the Manchester Co-op Preschool. Ages 18+ only.

Also shop local businesses and donate to the CRC!

Many local businesses will also be having special offers and extended hours during Christmas in the Village. If giving is more your thing than shopping is, stop by the Giving Tree at the Manchester Market at 455 W Main St during their regular business hours and donate non-perishable foods to be given to the Community Resource Center. Or scan a QR code to make a monetary donation.
