You know it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas when the Santa Mailbox arrives on the streets of Manchester.

For the past few years, the mailbox has found a comfortable residence in the alley on Main Street, located between Dance With Heart Studios and the Comerica/Main Street Suites building. And each year, dozens of Santa’s young friends in Manchester take the opportunity to write and share with Santa their deepest wishes.

Because there is a special connection between Santa and Manchester, these letters amazingly find their way to the North Pole before Christmas. There, Santa and the Elves (and sometimes even Mrs. Claus and Rudolph!) get to work during what is already their busiest season of the year, and sit down with warm mugs of cocoa to respond to the children of Manchester.

Santa wants everyone to know that it will help a lot if you put your full name and address (including PO Box) on your letter. And because the mail takes a little while to get from here to the North Pole, if you would like a response, please put your letter in the special red mailbox by Tuesday, December 19.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
