Students of the Month, November 2023

Students at Manchester Junior/Senior High School (MHS) receive Student of the Month awards for promoting a good way of life; for working and getting along with people; for working up to their capacity; for inspiring respect for adults, peer groups, and people in authority; for promoting good citizenship; for promoting self-control, ambition, responsibility, and self-reliance; for having desirable leadership; for promoting friendship and being personable; and for aiding and encouraging the development of others with whom they are associated.
The Students of the Month for November are Charlotte Williams, 7th Grade; Madilyn Bennett, 8th Grade; Tucker Jones, Freshman; Lucy Baran, Sophomore; Benjamin Pauly, Junior; and Katelyn Simpson, Senior.
Katelyn Simpson, Senior Student of the Month, participated in school activities including: SRSLY, NHS, Student Council, Quill & Scroll, FFA, Cultural Club, and Yearbook, as well as being an MHS cheerleader. She plans on going to Virginia Tech next year and studying to become a wildlife biologist. Her hobbies include collecting rocks, preserved butterflies, and little fruit/veggie dishes. She loves taking care of chickens and spending time with her family.
Katelyn, as a senior, is eligible to compete for the Manchester Community Schools Foundation scholarship as one of the 10 senior students selected throughout the year.
