WCSO December 2023 police services monthly report
As reported by Lt. Alan Hunt, WSCO
During the month of December there were 141 calls for service in the City of Manchester. During this time, 75 traffic stops were made, resulting in 14 citations.
No noteworthy incidents were reported in the City during the month that posed a risk or threat to the community, and no Ordinance Violations were recorded.
Sgt. Joel Gebauer did report to City Council, however, that over the past two months they had received a number of voice mails to an unpublished, non-emergency line that rings only into the Station 4 (Manchester) office. The concern is that some of these calls were of an emergent nature, and because deputies are out on patrol for most of their shift, the calls for help were not heard promptly. Fortunately there was no loss of life or property noted from any of these delays; but Gebauer said some of the calls could have resulted in more serious consequences.
There is a county-wide NON-emergency dispatch number (734-994-2911, x8), where your call is triaged by dispatch staff, and which all residents should be using if they are unsure if they have an “emergency” situation to which officers should respond. Do not call the local Station 4 number, and if you have it on your refrigerator or posted by your telephone, please remove it immediately!
