No Loved One and Me dance planned for this year

Manchester Community Schools Foundation (MCSF) is in the process of disbanding. (See related article). In addition to the grants and scholarships they provided for students and teachers, MCSF also held community events as fundraisers, including the annual Loved One and Me Dance. At this dance a child could attend with a special adult and dance, snack, and do a craft. Because MCSF is disbanding, no Loved One and Me Dance is being planned for the year.
After a hiatus for COVID, the first Loved One and Me Dance was held in 2022, replacing two separate dances, the Daddy-Daughter Dance and the Mother-Son Dance, at the same time becoming an outdoor event. MCSF took over the separate dances from the Klager Parent Teacher Organization in 2017 and made the dances more inclusive, opening them up to girls and boys of all ages, and to those who homeschool or attend other districts, as opposed to a Klager-specific event.
It is not too late for a dance to still happen this year. Theresa Herron, of MCSF stated, “As there is some time before spring, there should be time if another group wants to take it over. Any interested person may reach out to a trustee of MCSF if they’d like information on how it was organized — though adopting new systems and themes would certainly be an option.” You can contact Herron at tkther@gmail.com.
She added, “The MCSF thanks the families and community members who made those dances a success, and hopes any future dances are also successful and fun family events.”
