Arlene Rae Hanson (January 20, 1942 – February 11, 2024)

Arlene Rae Hanson, 82, of Manchester, passed away February 11, 2024.  Arlene’s family and friends will gather on Thursday February 15, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Emanuel United Church of Christ located at 324 W. Main St, Manchester, Michigan. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Dr. Eugene Blair will serve as officiant. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Arlene was born on January 20, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan to Donald and Pauline (James) Newell. Arlene married the love of her life, Alan Hanson, on June 30, 1962, in Adrian, Michigan. She was an active and devoted church member of both Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota, and later at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester. Arlene was a volunteer counselor for those recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She was a freelance writer for Rochester, Minnesota Post Bulletin Newspaper. Arlene enjoyed spending time reading, walking, and biking. She also enjoyed baking, painting, and camping. Arlene will be greatly missed by her family.

Arlene will be missed by her husband, Alan; her children, Alan Hanson Jr. (Colleen Chase), Alana (Mark) West; grandchildren, Gi West (Alex Newman), Miles West; Jasmine Hanson, and Bella Hanson. She is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Newell.
