Margret Shankland Heckaman, (June 27, 1928 – February 21, 2024)

Margret Louise Shankland Heckaman, 95, of Manchester, passed away February 21, 2024. Margret’s family and friends will gather from 2 to 4pm Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Emanuel Church of Christ in Manchester, Michigan. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm. Reverend Gene Blair will serve as celebrant.

Margret was born on June 27, 1928, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Edward Hurley and Ethel (McCauley) Hurley. She graduated from Ann Arbor High and worked as a typist, retiring from the U of M. Margret will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and friends. Margret enjoyed playing euchre, snowmobiling, croquet games, and camping. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Margret will be missed by her children, Thomas (Terri) Shankland, Christopher Shankland, and Marty (Krista) Shankland; 11 grandchildren, and 17-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Shankland, partner Norm Addison, second husband Francis Heckaman, daughter Julie Gillen and Son, Bradley Shankland.
