Obituary: Megana Denise Koch
Megana Denise Koch, 76, of Manchester passed away suddenly, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Trinity Health – St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Megana’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 10am – 11am at Victory Baptist Church, 419 S. Macomb Street, Manchester, with her funeral service to follow at 11am. Pastor Gary Paige will officiate.
She was born on January 3, 1948 in Petoskey, Michigan to Paul and Betty (Holland) Whitaker. Megana married the love of her life, Lester Koch on February 11, 1967, in Dexter, Michigan. She will be remembered for her terrific smile and generosity. Megana was a very caring woman that always helped those in need. She was a Dexter High School graduate, class of 1966. Megana retired from Midwest Microwave after many years of service. She was very strong in her faith, reading her bible often and a longtime member of the Victory Baptist Church in Manchester. Megana enjoyed traveling throughout Michigan (especially the Upper Peninsula) and attending family reunions at Foster’s Pond. She was a great Salsa and Chili cook, making it fresh from her garden. Megana also was an avid Yoda collector and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Megana is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Lester; her daughter, Janey (Mike Morse) Koch; her sister, Becky (Bob) Milne; two grandson’s Paul and Allen Koch; several nieces and nephews and a daughter like friend, Angela Derby. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Kammy Koch.
