Worth Repeating celebrates returning more than $100K to community in four years
submitted by Pat Sahakian
This month, Worth Repeating celebrates the return of $100,154.96 to the Manchester community from its inception in March 2020 to its fourth anniversary in March 2024. The store invites the community to come celebrate with us on Saturday, March 23, from 10am until 2pm.
There will be free cake for all. All clothes and shoes will be free for a donation on that day as a thank you to the community.
Worth Repeating is happy to fund many extras that have added to the quality of life for many of our residents. If you enjoyed the fair, attended the summer gazebo concerts, participated in the canoe race, took cooking classes at the market, or took part in craft classes at the historical museum, you benefited from a Worth Repeating grant. Over one-third of our grants went to the community schools, paying for scholarships, books, remedial math software, athletic equipment and team uniforms, and supplies for the robotics teams and appreciation programs for the teaching staff. The Manchester District Library, the Senior Citizens Group, the Historical Society, the Lions Club, and Manchester Family Service are a few more of the local recipients of grants from the store.
We like to think of ourselves as the Little Store That Could. None of the things we have done would have been possible without the many hours that volunteers put into the store each week. We depend on the many valuable donations of salable goods that the community donates as well as the happy shoppers who stop by for bargains and conversation every week.
During Easter Week we will hold an Easter Egg Hunt within the store for all our shoppers. Each customer is allowed to find one egg that carries a special surprise.
Worth Repeating is a collaborative, community-wide effort and we look forward to continuing our mission to find new homes for unwanted items and making life more sustainable and enjoyable for the entire Manchester community. Worth Repeating is truly grateful for all the community support that has helped us with our mission.
