Help pull garlic mustard at Sharon Hills Preserve

It is important to pull garlic mustard before it goes to seed.

from Legacy Land Conservancy

On May 4 from 10am to 12pm, Legacy Land Conservancy will be leading a workday at Sharon Hills Preserve, located on Sharon Hollow Road (between Walker and Washburn roads). Join us to help remove the invasive species garlic mustard. Volunteers will be hand-pulling the garlic mustard and disposing of it in garbage bags (bags will be provided by Legacy) so the plants don’t re-establish themselves after being pulled.

Please dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pants and closed-toe shoes are a must, regardless of the temperature, to protect from poison ivy and getting scratched up while working outside. Legacy will provide tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like. Don’t forget a water bottle and sunscreen. We also suggest you bring bug spray to reduce the risk of exposure to ticks and other biting insects. Meet at the parking lot.

Please RSVP by filling out the Google form (which you can reach by visiting https://legacylandconservancy.org/events/ and scrolling down and clicking on “Workday at Sharon Hills Preserve,” then clicking on Google Form link). Questions? Call (734) 302-5263 or email volunteer@legacylandconservancy.org
