Digital Dislocators compete in Kentwood event

This weekend the Digital Dislocators competed in the Kentwood district event! Even though the robot performed phenomenally all weekend long, the team received an extremely tough match schedule, which ultimately resulted in a final ranking of 15/39 and a qualification match record of 7 wins and 5 losses.
During alliance selection, they were selected by 858 | Demons Robotics alongside 3568 | Robo-Beavers to form the #4 alliance! The team unfortunately lost their very first match in the elimination bracket, but were able to successfully fight all the way back through the lower bracket and back into the finals. After a close first match loss, they were able to win the second match and force the final tiebreaker. Both alliances put everything into the match, which concluded with an unpenalized score of 103-104, but unfortunately ended in a loss for the Digital Dislocators alliance.
Even though they didn’t bring home the blue banner, the team still had an outstanding weekend! They were the recipients of the autonomous award which celebrates a team that has demonstrated consistent, reliable, high-performance robot operation during autonomously managed actions. Additionally, our very own Carl Casey was chosen as the Dean’s List semi-finalist which recognizes leadership and dedication of the most outstanding students within FIRST!
After their two district events the Digital Dislocators are ranked 11th in Michigan as they move into the state championship next weekend, and are so excited to see where the rest of the season takes them.
The state championship will be held this upcoming Thursday-Saturday at Saginaw Valley State University.
