Help plant trees at Sharon Mills Park!
by Sara Swanson
Washtenaw County Parks is planting trees—lots of trees!—at parks and preserves throughout Washtenaw County. Next week they will be coming to Sharon Mills in the Manchester area and they need volunteers to help them plant. They will be planting trees (lots of oaks) and a few shrubs to create habitat, sequester carbon dioxide, absorb stormwater, and much more. Learn tree-planting tips and tricks that you can take home, joining the effort to solve pressing environmental challenges. Make 2024 the year you plant a tree!
Planting trees at Sharon Mills will be on Saturday, May 4, from 9am to noon. Sharon Mills Park is located at 5701 Sharon Mills Rd. Recommended for ages 16+. Snacks and gloves provided.
