Public invited to Spring Music Night and Art Shows at the high school
by Sara Swanson
We reported a couple of weeks ago that the Young 5s through 6th grade Art Show will be held at the Manchester District Library this year from May 6 through May 12. Unlike in recent years, the Manchester High School Art Show will not be held at the library, but at the high school.
This year the Manchester Jr./Sr. High School visual arts exhibition will be held on the high school campus in combination with the spring music concerts. The High School Spring Music Night and Art Show will be on Tuesday, May 14, with the Art Show opening at 6pm and the concert starting at 7pm. The Middle School Spring Music Night and Art Show will be on Tuesday, May 14, with the 7th and 8th grade Art Show opening at 6pm and the 5th through 8th grade band concert starting at 7pm.
The art shows will take place in the commons and the concerts in the auditorium. The Manchester Jr./Sr. High School is located at 20500 Dutch Dr, Manchester. For those who are not able to attend the exhibition and concert dates, they will also have student artwork on display at the year-end awards ceremony on May 22.
Although this year the event will be visual and music only, high school art teacher Kimberly Carey hopes to grow this into an annual event that includes both visual and industrial arts next year, as well as music.
