The Manchester Farmers Market returned to downtown Manchester last Thursday with vendors, live music, and giveaways! Farmer Market Committee chair Theresa Herron stated, “More vendors and a move back to Adrian Street, plus great weather, meant conditions were perfect for our first day of the season. It was great to see so many people there!”

This week on Thursday, May 23, in addition to vendors, the Farmers Market will be holding a brief goodbye party for their former market manager, Laura Wohlgemuth, from 3 to 4pm at the market booth. Deb Heskett will be teaching a short class on the basics of starting canning, especially looking at equipment, and taking questions from 5 to 6pm.

Next week, on Thursday, May 30, the Washtenaw County Health Department Health RV will be present. To sign up for services, please contact the Community Resource Center at 734-428-7722 or the Farmers Market at farmersmarket48158@gmail.com. If you have questions about cost or what services are available, please call the health department at 734-544-6700. The Farmers Market will also be giving away a free basket of vendors’ gifts by drawing at 5pm. Enter your name and phone number at the market booth for a chance to take it home; you do not need to be present to win.

The Farmers Market will run every Thursday from 3pm to 6pm through October 17.
