Manchester Fairy Festival at the Farmers Market this week!

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Last year’s Fairy Festival was first rescheduled due to a severe thunderstorm forecasted, then moved indoors due to an air-quality alert but still had more than 60 participants!

Editors note: This article was updated the evening of 6-17-24 with a change of location due to forecasted high temperatures. As a hot weather plan for this week, market vendors and fairy festivities will set up in the basement of Manchester United Methodist Church.

Come join us at the Manchester Fairy Festival sponsored by Worth Repeating, which will take place at the Manchester Farmers Market in the basement of Manchester United Methodist Church at 501 Ann Arbor Street this Thursday, June 20 from 3pm – 6pm!

This year’s Manchester Fairy Festival schedule includes:

  • 3pm - 6pm — Make your own fairy gardens with ferns donated by Debbie Kelly
  • 3pm - 6pm — Fairy crafts
  • 4pm — Fairy Dance Class with Dance With Heart Studios
  • 4:30pm — Fairy storytime with our new children’s librarian, Abby, from the Manchester District Library
  • 5pm — Fairy Festival raffle with a giant stuffed animal donated by Barry Allen from the Manchester Lions Club along with other items to raffle off (must be present to win)

Along with the awesome regularly scheduled vendors, Clever Creations by Amy will have her whimsical fairy garden treasures, including dragon’s eggs and gnomes, and Ken Conklin’s will feature fairy birdhouses.

Don’t forget about the Fairy Garden Contest! Sign up at the Market this week or email your name and address to the Market at farmersmarket48158@gmail.com. Those outside the city limits should provide 5–10 pictures of their fairy gardens to enter. Winners will be announced at the Farmers Market on Thursday, June 27.

We thank Worth Repeating for sponsoring the Manchester Fairy Festival and Fairy Garden Contest. Thank you to Dances with Heart Studios for providing a safe space for our activities. Thank you also to Debbie Kelly and Barry Allen for donating items for the Manchester Fairy Festival. And, of course, thank you to all of the countless community volunteers for making this happen.
