from Washtenaw County Road Commission

On Monday, June 17, 2024, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will begin a preventative maintenance fog-seal project in Sharon and Manchester Townships on Sharon Valley Rd between Sharon Hollow Rd and the County line; Pleasant Lake Rd between Sharon Hollow Rd and M-52; and Sharon Hollow Rd between Austin Rd and Pleasant Lake Rd. The roadwork is expected to take approximately four days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Fog seal is a thin layer of liquid asphalt placed on top of a recent chip-seal application that WCRC crews performed earlier this month. Fog seal helps to seal in the chips and further protect the pavement. The work will be conducted under a combination of lane restrictions and daytime closures to allow the fog seal to cure. A contractor for WCRC will return to this area in a few weeks to place permanent pavement markings.

Also in Sharon Township, Sharon Hollow Rd between Washburn Rd and Grass Lake Rd will have intermittent lane restrictions June 17 through 24 for forestry.

Schneider Rd between Austin Rd and Pleasant Lake Rd in Freedom and Bridgewater Townships will have intermittent lane restrictions June 14 through 28 for road resurfacing.

Local and primary soft surface roads in Manchester Township will have intermittent lane restrictions through June 20 for dust control.
